(1904 - 1980)
Sir Cecil Walter Hardy Beaton was a celebrity fashion, portrait and war photographer, stage and film designer, interior deigner and diarist.
His nanny taught him how to use her camera (a Kodak 3A) and he managed to get a photo published in Vogue whilst at Cambridge. He left without a degree in 1925.
Beaton photographed the British Royal Family extensively and his images remain among the most iconic, especially his photographs of the Queen in the 1950s and 60s.
