From 1954 Sadler devoted his life to painting. Famous for his large abstract landscapes and influenced by Jackson Pollock. Sadler also had a love of painting horses, going with his friend and neighbour Sir Alfred Munnings to paint them at Newmarket Heath.
Although famous for his abstract expressionism Sadlers paintings of horses are, in my opinion, among the best of the period no doubt informed by a childhood spent as the son of a famous racehorse trainer, Harry Sadler.
