Green lived in a cottage above the River Rat with her partner Lionel Bulmer. Having been a star pupil at the Royal College of Art (1944 - 1947) she was latterly celebrated for her paintings of domestic scenese. Bulmer meanwhile became noted for his very distinctive method of applying paint.
