(1905 - 1983)
Aldridge was prominent within the group now known as the Great Bardfield artists which included Edward Bawden, Eric Ravilious and the latter's wife Tirzah. He painted the countryside around Great Bardfield and took frequent trips to both Mallorca and Italy.
Rather like his contemporaries Cedric Morris and John Nash, Aldridge was a very keen gardener and frequently painted his own garden at Place House in Great Bardfield. Edward Bawden and Aldridge collaborated on a number of wallpaper designes in the 1930s.
