Gary Bunt is one of the foremost contemporary painters working in Britain today. His paintings draw inspiration from Alfred Wallis, Christoher Wood and Winifred Nicholson. Bert and his dog feature in many of Bunt's paintings and it is a theme he has revisited and developed over time.
Bunt's paintings are full of British charm and also refract his personal faith in a strong and original way which places him in a much longer tradition of Western painting, a tradition that is unafraid to address deeper human questions in a painterly context.
