Frederick Donald Blake

Artists

(1908 - 1997)

Blake trained at Camberwell School of Art and worked commercially thereafter. In 1940 he was drafted as a war artist.
His skill was widely recognised during his lifetime and extended beyond the production of posters. He developed a speciaised tequnique using clay coated paper and varnish. He also painted in oils. Blake was elected as a member of numerous artists groups and clubs and his work was exhibited in many galleries around the world and also at the Royal Academy.
